Whose Uncle John? Researching family history to find the link between

|||||||||||||||||||||
IntroductionMy mother, Elizabeth Baybutt (nee Snaylam), was born in 1917 in the village of Hoole, near Preston, where she lived with her mother, brothers and sister up until the time of her marriage. Her best friend during this time was Margaret Holden (now Bolton), who she has kept in touch with over the years and still meets up with occasionally. I happened to call in during one of their meetings and heard them both refer to ‘Uncle John’. “Whose uncle was he?” I asked. “Mine” said Mum. “I always thought he was mine; we always called him Uncle John” said Margaret, “His wife was my aunty Margaret, and their daughter was my cousin Alice”. So
this I thought is my challenge. Follow the family tree and try to
find a link between Mum and her best friend.
