The Men's Fireside was a weekly meeting with a speaker
for the men of the chapel and their friends. It was originally
held in the old Sunday School which was heated by a large
boiler in the centre of the hall. As everyone tended to
sit around the fire for the meetings, it became known as
the "Men's Fireside"
