The Sunday School Garden Party took place each summer on the lawn of Mr & Mrs Harry Jackson who lived down Nursery Drive in the bungalow behind the old Sunday School.

As well as the usual stalls, side shows and games for the children there was the 'wedding' of Mr & Mrs Hesketh and Mr & Mrs Lane. It was a popular event which caused a great deal of laughter and "mickey tacking".
