ABOUT
MYSELF.
I was born in Tarleton and attended the local Primary
School and Hutton Grammar School and the Lancashire
College of Agriculture. My two children both attended
local Schools, and I am proud to be a Governor of
Tarleton Community Primary and Tarleton High. One
of my concerns is that School leavers find decent
jobs or further education.
I have my own Market Garden and have spent over 20
years in the Agricultural Supply Industry. I have
been a Director and Company Secretary of an Agricultural
Company.
COUNCIL
WORK.
I was elected as a Conservative Councillor
in 2005 I feel that my contacts and experience will
be of great use to the Parish Council .Indeed I have
worked well with both Banks and Hesketh Bank Parish
Councils and have obtained LCC grants for them. If
elected I also feel that I will gain a greater awareness
of the problems of the Village and will be able to
pass them on and hopefully solve them.
ROADS.
Lancs County County is responsible for the
maintenance of the roads and foot paths and I am in
weekly contact with the Highways Manager reporting
Potholes etc.because of the limited money available
he can only make do and mend (LCC is controlled by
the Labour Party).I have spoken many times at County
Hall about the roads and also the Green Lane Link
the backing of the Parish Council would be most welcome.
RECYCLING.
Again at County Hall I obtained all party
support for a review of the proposal to close Rufford
recyling centre I would have appreciated some support
from the Parish Council.
If
elected I would like to extend the good working relationship
I have with the District Councillors to the Parish
Council.
MY
AIMS.
